Egyptian Game of Immortality is the first in a series that will build over time to form an encyclopedia of the 5,000+ year old game of Zn.t or Senet. I have tried to strike a balance between readability, Egyptological scholarship and general usefulness.
This first volume introduces necessary preliminary concepts, plus it provides translations of important Egyptian texts, together with plenty of illustrations. ZENET can be used as a divination Oracle, as a ritual game to communicate with the Dead, as an offering to the Gods or the Akhs, as a solar and lunar meditation, a conversation with your own bA-soul, or simply as a fascinating recreational board-game. Many crucial ritual Zenet texts are included here, together with full annotations, and some new theories about the nature of this system. This volume teaches rudiments of the Middle Egyptian language which is essential to opening up knowledge (hidden for millennia past) of this uniquely powerful box brimful of deities. According to Herodotus “immortal souls”, and metempsychosis, are first recorded in Egypt. Our highest non-structural and thus potentially imperishable soul, the phantom eye/ eye of shiva/ eye of Horus or Atman of the Brahmas (the Hindus and Egyptians have same linguistic root-term for the highest of the seven Egyptian souls) . Likewise the seven main chakras of the Brahmins, I claim, are identical (i.e. one to one correspondences) with the seven Egyptian souls.
Furthermore the Mehen serpent, patron deity of Zenet = Kundalini as he ascends through Houses of the Great Ones as we weave our way along the Zenet board game, and simultaneously rises up through the chakras or ‘souls’ of the player. From the base-chakra or lowest soul up to the finest levels. First 25 squares correspond with this world, the next 5 are stages of the After-life. Then final success, off the board in victory.
A ladder was sometimes placed in important tombs that the soul could use to ascend to the stars. The steps of Senet are also used for our developmental ascension, both in this life and after. The seven grades of Egyptian Crata Repoa initiatory system also corresponds with these souls.
The Zenet (proto-QBL) pathway zig zags across the three registers of ten steps very like the lightening flash on the much later Cabalistic Tree. We return in Zenet to the proto “Tifareth” which was originally the House of Life or Ankh square. The Djed carried by Ptah in Enochian Chess also represents the tree or ladder (tree and staff were sometimes used interchangeably).
